Sponsor Opportunities

Guests who attend Heart of the Horse are generous, philanthropic individuals who support animal welfare. Becoming a Heart of the Horse sponsor is a great way to put your business squarely in the sight of horse owners and animal lovers who support SAFE. With SAFE’s reputation for honesty, transparency, and responsibility, you can be sure that you are backing a great cause that is dear to our community’s hearts. SAFE’s loyal supporters will appreciate that you’ve joined them in the fight for forgotten horses.

Our sponsorship opportunities provide you with a range of benefits, allowing you to choose the dollar amount that works best for you. Save a Forgotten Equine is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, making your sponsorship donation partly tax deductible.

As our partner at Heart of the Horse, we want to optimize your experience, recognition and community impact. We would be pleased to tailor your sponsorship to match your needs. Please contact Bonnie Hammond, SAFE Executive Director, at 206.331.0006 or bonnie@safehorses.org with any questions.

Why partner with SAFE Horse Rescue?

There are many compelling reasons to get behind Save a Forgotten Equine. As a horse rescue, SAFE is the gold standard in the Pacific Northwest for both rehabilitation and retraining of neglected horses. SAFE reaches beyond just rescue to ensure that our charges never end up unwanted again. As a nonprofit, SAFE is highly regarded for its transparency, integrity, and strong leadership. And as a place for volunteering, SAFE provides fulfilling opportunities for more than 150 individuals, some with horse experience and some who are new to horses.

But there’s no need to take our word for it. Just this year, the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries (GFAS) announced that SAFE had been accepted as a GFAS Accredited rescue. There are only 209 GFAS organizations worldwide, and the requirements to gain Accredited status are thorough and comprehensive. GFAS scrutinized every aspect of our rescue operation: not just the property and animal care practices, but also how we operate as a nonprofit. The standards set by GFAS are very high, and we are proud to say that SAFE met and even exceeded those standards.

Why go to all this trouble? Why subject ourselves to being put under a microscope, to have every inch of our farm inspected, to have to produce reams of documents, including standard operating procedures for every single facet of this rescue?

Because GFAS Accreditation means that SAFE is rescuing horses at the highest level. It means we do things right, even when there might be an easier way. It means that we are unquestionably devoted to the well being of the horses that we take in. And it means that when you chose to support our horses as a donor or an event sponsor, you can be sure that your gift will be used to change horses’ lives.
